So, who I am?
Very “technical” speaking: My name is Gudy Herder, I was born in Germany and have been living in Barcelona, Spain for the past 20 something years where I work as an Interior Stylist and Trainer. But that’s only part of me.
What is my background?
I have been trained in retail trade and I work today in two areas. Apart from offering styling services, I teach Strategic Visual Merchandising in the luxury field. I am very lucky to travel the world through my work. 2012 has been the year of decorating and training on different markets such as Europe, Dubai, Brazil, Panama and Mexico.
Where my true passions lie:
In fact, I have a top 10 passion list but let me try to break them down a bit:
I am a very visual person. I have a natural understanding of what works fine together mixing up different styles. Styling is an essential part of my life.
I took 12 sabbatical month 10 years ago (highly recommended!) and discovered clay. I have since then experimented with many different materials, disciplines and styles. Today I am working on a paper clay project, plan to have my own kiln by 2013 and who knows, launch my own collection?
Traveling. Getting to know artisans around the world. I love discovering hand crafters who share the same love I have: express ourselves through our hands.
This is what makes me feel happy!
