Amazing flower constructions by Anne Tenn Donkelaar

Let’s do a little break before I go on with the Salone material and talk flowers today. I see flowers and plants everywhere. There has never been such a strong movement before I believe. The botanical world is trendy. Flowers are used in food, made out of different materials and are an evergreen on any kind of patterns. And plants are invading our homes, vertically growing and with special furniture already designed for them.

Anne Tenn Donkelaar, located in Utrecht, The Netherlands is the creative behind these fragile flower art works. I have been seeing them for a while on Pinterest but without paying too much attention until I decided to do a research for my own styling project.

Flower constructions are 3d collages from pressed flowers and cut out flower pictures. Each element is meticulously placed on pins which creates the depth. Some of them are like a fantasy Herbaria, filled with dried flowers or branches, with irregular shapes. Some even refer to planets. I’d love to know what average time she spends on every single art piece…

Vamos a descansar un poco antes de que siga con más posts de la feria de Milano. Hoy quiero hablar de flores y plantas. En serio, todo lo verde está muy en auge. Las flores se usan para cocinar, se diseñan con materiales diversos y son ya un clásico en los estampados de tela. Y las plantas invaden nuestros hogares con propuestas verticales y mobiliario especial ya diseñado para lucirse.

La artifice de esta obra floral y  frágil es la diseñadora Anne Tenn Donkelaar de Utrecht, Paises Bajos. Ya los había visto en Pinterest pero al querer investigar ahora para un proyecto mío, he encontrado su página.

Las estructuras florales son montajes en 3D de flores disecadas y recortadas de imágenes. Cada pieza se pincha en un alfiler creando así profundidad. Se parecen a un herbario con flor y rama seca con formas irregulares. Algunos incluso se parecen a planetas. Tengo curiosidad por saber cuanto tiempo de promedio trabaja en una obra…
