Conference Be Open (Creative Think Tank) at Milan

I attended yesterday during the Salone the Conference Be Open with the topic of “Unique&Universal”. Francesco Morace from the Future Lab Concept (first pic) would open the conference and he was one of the main reasons I switched part of the Salone. I saw him a couple of years ago at the Barcelona Design Week and it was then when my passion for trends with a social aspect was born.

The basic idea in a few sentences would be that everything in a first moment is local. The question is how to translate that to the world. The more unique you are, the more accepted you will be if you guarantee quality. With social media you can be nowadays local and global at the same time. Local talents can be easily found, briefed and put into the world. I could write pages and pages about the content but that´s probably a bit out of place here. So, here goes a couple of slides with a sum up of the topic. I believe it is interesting enough to share (and really good information if you are interested in trends), specially the second one.

But apart, the panel of speakers was very promising too. From left to right:
Ilse Crawford, Designer and Creative Director
Daniel Rozensztroch, Art Director Merci Paris
Paola Navone, Architect and Designer
Patricia Urquiola, Architect and Designer
Stuart Parr, Designer and Entrepreneur
Gaetano Pesce, Architect and Designer

I was specially interested in Paola and Patricia, two very different women, strong and grounded I have admired for a long time. I liked very much the 3 women´s approach in general. I don´t have any gender prejudice, I just believe they were much more focused with clearer ideas. Here goes a picture of them all together.
